For-get-me-nots
As Julie found inspiration in abstract realism she never finished this painting of for-get-me-nots. "I'm not sure if I will go back to it, I feel I have 'moved on' for now and don't feel inspired to go back to it, if I did, I wouldn't paint it like I did before."
Using The Right-side Of The Brain
Julie said "I have always blended when painting, it's a technique that I was taught to do. I never considered working quickly either, because that was something that gave me heart palpitations!
I always loved to work in detail using a small or medium brush, but I now realise, that as an artist, you have to use your right side of your brain too! As that's where your expansion comes in as an artist, and the more you let go expressively with the brush the more you're using your 'whole-brain' and that's where the magic happens!"
